Hosted May 12th, 10:30am- 1:30pm EST | Virtual
Your team is already stretched. The last thing you need is another tool that promises to save time but takes weeks to learn. This half-day virtual session is built specifically for nonprofit staff who need practical AI skills they can apply the same week — no tech background required, no dedicated data team needed. In 3.5 hours, you'll move through two tightly connected modules designed to meet nonprofits exactly where the pressure is highest: doing more rigorous research with less time, and building the internal guardrails to use AI confidently and responsibly as an organization.
In Module 1, Research Like a Pro, you'll learn how to use AI tools to conduct rapid landscape analyses, synthesize qualitative community data, and build credible needs assessments in a fraction of the time it currently takes your team. You'll practice live during a small group breakout, leaving with a repeatable research process you can apply immediately to any program or funding need.
In Module 2, Build Your AI Foundation, you'll tackle the governance side — the part most nonprofits skip until it becomes a problem. You'll walk through the core elements every nonprofit AI use policy must include, build a role-based workflow map designed for small teams, and draft the first section of your policy live during the session. You'll leave with something concrete to bring to your leadership team or board.
This session is designed for program staff, operations leads, communications managers, and executive directors at small to mid-sized nonprofits. Come ready to work — every module includes live practice with real tools, not just slides.
Registration includes session access, all digital resources and templates, and a recording available for 30 days after the event.
Early Bird: $280 | Full Price: $350
Hosted by Tiasia O'Brien, President & CEO of co:census — a public benefit corporation working at the intersection of data, design, and community impact across New York and nationally. co:census has partnered with city agencies, NYSERDA, foundations, and nonprofit networks to build more equitable, data-informed communities.

Hosted in-person on May 21st , 10:30 -1:30 pm EST. Location shared upon registration.
You have the data. You have the mission. What you may not have is the time — or the team — to turn it all into the compelling narratives and donor relationships that actually move the needle on revenue. This in-person half-day session is built for development and program staff who need to raise more money and communicate impact more powerfully, without adding headcount or hiring a consultant. In 3.5 hours in New York City, you'll work through two modules that take you from your program data all the way to your donor's inbox — using AI as your behind-the-scenes strategist, analyst, and writing partner.
In Module 1, From Data to Impact Story, you'll learn how to use AI to analyze program data, build KPI frameworks your team can actually maintain, and generate funder-ready impact narratives that are accurate, compelling, and fast to produce. You'll bring your own anonymized data to the session and generate a real impact narrative draft before the break — not a hypothetical, but something you can actually use.
In Module 2, Fund More, Reach More, you'll tackle the revenue side. You'll learn how to use AI tools for ethical donor prospect research, write personalized outreach that doesn't sound robotic, and map the grant landscape faster than any manual search. You'll build a one-page donor prospect brief live during a team sprint and leave with an outreach template pack ready to customize for your own pipeline.
This session is ideal for development directors, major gifts officers, program managers, and executive directors who wear multiple hats. Come ready to work — every module includes live practice with real tools, not just slides.
Registration includes full session access, all printed and digital resources, and light refreshments.

This is the room where the work gets real. All summer. All in.
The co:mmunity in practice Series Pass is your all-access ticket to every session in our 2026 learning series — six workshops and two in-person convenings running May through September in New York and virtually.
The first two workshops are confirmed and open for registration:
— AI Skills for Nonprofits: Research & Organizational Readiness — Learn how to integrate AI tools into your research workflows and assess your organization's readiness to work smarter without losing the human at the center.
— AI Skills for Nonprofits: Impact Storytelling & Fundraising — Turn data into narratives that move funders. Learn how AI can sharpen your case for support, your reports, and the stories that sustain your mission.
The remaining workshops and both in-person convenings are being announced weekly throughout April. Each session builds on the last — and each week you wait, the price goes up.
The Series Pass starts at $900. Every new workshop announcement adds to the value — and to the price. Lock in now, and you pay today's rate for everything that's coming, including sessions not yet revealed.

co:mmunity in practice is built for people who are actively doing community engagement, planning, or organizational development work — not people just getting started with the concepts. If you've run an engagement process and wondered why it didn't land the way you hoped, if you're navigating AI tools and not sure how to use them responsibly with communities, or if you lead a team that needs a shared methodology and language, this series was designed for you. Our participants are typically planners, community engagement leads, nonprofit program and development staff, transportation professionals, and organizational leaders at small to mid-sized firms and agencies. If you're still unsure, send us a message and we'll tell you honestly whether it's the right fit.
-
Select workshops in the series are APA CM credit eligible. Credit hours and activity type will be confirmed and listed on each individual session page at the time of announcement. If CM eligibility is a deciding factor for you or your organization, we recommend checking each session's page directly or subscribing to our newsletter — CM details will be included in every weekly reveal. If you have questions about a specific session before it's announced, reach out to us directly at community@seamsociallabs.com

Virtual workshops will be recorded and made available to registered attendees for 72 hours after the live session. We keep the access window intentionally short because the live experience — the Q&A, the peer discussion, the real-time problem solving — is where the value is. Recording access is included with every ticket. In-person convenings are not recorded, but session materials and resources will be shared with all registered attendees afterward.

Yes. Every workshop is available as a standalone ticket at $350. If one or two sessions speak directly to where you are in your work right now, buy those. The Series Pass is for practitioners who want the full arc — all six workshops, both in-person convenings, and the relationships that build across the summer. If you buy a single session and decide you want more, you can upgrade to the pass at any time and we'll credit what you've already paid.
-
The Series Pass is priced to reflect what's been revealed. When you buy early, you're committing before you know every session — and we reward that trust with the lowest rate. Each week we announce a new workshop, the pass price increases to reflect the added value. Whatever you pay today locks in your access to everything announced after, at no additional cost. The earlier you commit, the more you save. That's intentional.
